Appraisal & Estate Valuations

Protect your investment!   We provide local appraisal services for insurance replacement, estate valuations, litigation support, and purchase consultations.  Heather Hoehn our GIA Graduate Gemologist and National Association of Jewelry Appraisers member, holds a Graduate Gemologist diploma, Graduate Pearls diploma, and Accredited Jewelry Professional certificate from the Gemological Institute of America.  With her certifications, Ms. Hoehn is able to provide grading and identification of diamonds, gemstones, and pearls.  

Services are charged on a per piece basis starting at $85 per piece.  A discounted rate may be provided for multiple pieces at the discretion of A Natural Gem.  Total price will be figured prior to appraisal services being completed.

Gemstone Identification & Valuation:

Don't know what that heirloom stone is?  We have a full laboratory of equipment to accurately determine the identity of cut gemstones.  

Service includes gemological testing on cut gemstones (mounted or loose) and appraisal paperwork.  Services are charged on a per piece basis starting at $100 per piece.  A discounted rate may be provided for multiple pieces at the discretion of A Natural Gem.  Total price will be figured prior to service completion.  Some appraisal services may need gemological identification if there is no previous documentation on the piece.

Curation & Custom Design

Find a piece somewhere you like?  Send us a picture and we will find it or make it for you!  If you saw something you loved and now have dreaded buyers regret let us try to find the piece for you.  If we can't, lets make it!  Custom design services are completed by a master jeweler to provide the highest level of quality.

Jewelry Repair

Accidents happen! And jewelry needs general care over time.  Repair services include stone setting, prong retipping, ring sizing, pearl stringing, replacing missing stones, stone tightening, and more!  A Natural Gem will meet with you to discuss repair options and provide you with an estimate for repair.  Most repair work will be completed within 5 to 10 business days.

A Natural Gem offers the following services performed by Heather Hoehn GIA GG, Member NAJA. Due to Covid-19 concerns in-home services will not be completed at this time.  We have chosen to do all in person appointments at 19109 West Catawba Avenue, Suite 200 Cornelius, NC 28031.  The building requires a face covering to be worn while inside the building and each office is sanitized between use.  We are now offering virtual appointments for consultations and custom design to limit person to person contact.
