I had a lot of fun on this project! This beautiful pendant was a gift to one of my clients but it was just a little to fancy for her. It is a Colombian emerald set in yellow gold with round brilliant and baguette cut diamonds. It was fixed to a serpentine link chain.
I simplified the look for her and transformed the piece by making the emerald the focus of the ring. By bezel setting the emerald the stone has some added protection when it's worn. I used the round diamonds that were channel set in the point of the pendant to accent along the bottom half of the emerald. This added some sparkle to the ring without taking away from the emerald. It also gives the illusion of larger diamonds. The thin white gold band keeps the look delicate and the focus on the emerald. We are now working on what to do with the remaining stones! More to come!
